What is Customer Premises Equipment in DTH

A customer premises equipment (CPE) refers to a telecommunications hardware devices which is located in the customer’s premises.

Every DTH service provider provides below mention hardware with new connection.

Dish Antenna – Radius of antenna is 30cm. Directions of dish antenna should be installed at 95 degree south – east and 45 degree vertical.

Low Noice Block Filter(LNBF) – It accumulates signals from satilite and sends to STB through cable. There are two types of LNBF in the market.

Set Top Box(STB) – According to Wiki A STB is an information appliance device that generally contains a TV-tuner input and displays output to a television set and an external source of signal, turning the source signal into content in a form that can then be displayed on the television screen.

Viewing Card(VC) – This card is just like a sim card of mobile phone. To receivedish ttv signals this card needs to be activated after installation. Every VC has an unique number.

Connecting Cable – used to connect quipment such as STB, LNBF and cable wire.
